What’s the Job?

The Planning Coordinator is responsible for the scheduling and planning the projects for manufacturing operations and customer demands. He/she will be accountable for the development, maintenance, and execution of the production schedule. The incumbent works closely with the operations manager and internal stakeholders to monitor material, equipment, machine and personnel resources. Assists in the manufacturing, implementation, efficiency, and effectiveness of new and existing projects. Ensures production demands are met and responsible for leading the coordination of varied multiple activities to ensure the production of projects are with the quality, delivery, and cost to meet customer's requirements.

Planning (50%)

  • Develop, track and continuously improve production schedules for all manufacturing departments.

  • Analyze, determine usage, and release materials to meet production schedules, customer deadlines, and inventory goals.

  • Coordinate, expedite, schedule changes, and expedite jobs as required.

  • Planning and coordination of daily production and work with internal stakeholders on acknowledgement of customer orders.

  • Support forecasting activity by participating in forecast review meetings and provide feedback to team members as required.

  • Lead capacity planning activities to ensure meeting customer requirements.

  • Develop metrics to track production adherence and compliance to plan. Maintain set-up and run times within the product routing software.

  • Develop new tools/utilize current software (Smartsheets) to improve planning, maximize production performance, increase output and reduce set-up changes.

  • Monitor and improve the weekly/daily planning meetings.

  • Interfaces with internal departments and Production on customer requirements and production capabilities.

Scheduling (40%)

  • Plan for the order of “cut to size” ceramic glass and framing components as the important parts of the bill of material, and the most critical in terms of production efficiency. This requires working closely with the internal stakeholders, including operations and engineering.

Inventory (10%)

  • Collaborate with inventory management coordinator to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained across the supply chain. Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and implement inventory strategies to minimize stockouts, excess inventory.

Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Operations Management.

  • 3-4 years of applied professional experience working in operations planning, marketing, material requirements planning, and/or forecast development.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (knowledge of QAD manufacturing system preferred),production planning tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct responsibility

  • Understanding of basic Continuous Improvement methodologies

  • Strong influencer with good written and oral communication skills, including online meeting management, in-person training and PowerPoint.

  • Results driven, flexible and open-minded.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
