Position Description
Job Summary
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Safety is of primary importance to this and all positions. The Ring Wrapper /Doucet Operator is primarily responsible to:
To safely finish and package material from the manufacturing lines.
To maintain a well organized and clean work station and update required documentation to insure a quality product.
Dependability is an essential part of this job as well as the ability to team with co-workers.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to all plant/OSHA safety rules.
Adhere to all JSA’s pertaining to the finishing and packaging equipment.
Perform safety inspections and report all unsafe conditions or Near Miss events immediately.
Wear all PPE as required
Follow all environmental and housekeeping requirements, properly dispose of trash, regularly sweep, keeping material, oil and water off floors.
Insure work station is clean prior to end of work shift.
Operate the finished edge machine and the ring wrapper machine, including making product changes as needed.
Perform all quality checks, report all defects and insure that product meets all dimensional and cosmetic standards, and properly document.
Package product per specification – proper palletization of product, correctly coded and properly placed labels, insert slip sheets, and band product to pallet.
Properly enter production and inventory information correctly.
Any other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Accurate- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly is essential.
Communication (Oral) – Ability to communicate with supervisor, co-workers and managers effectively is essential.
Decision Making- Ability to make decisions while following all Company safety rules and procedures is essential especially, when working in and around moving high speed equipment.
Detail Oriented- Ability to note minute detail impacting product quality and packaging is critical.
Honesty/Integrity- The trait of being truthful and credible within the workplace is essential.
Organized- Ability to follow a systematic method to package product maintaining a clean, well-organized work area and insuring proper stock levels for shrouds, bands, and labels is critical.
Problem Solving- Ability to proactively find solutions or manage work related problems is important.
Reliability- The trait of being dependable and trustworthy is essential.
Team Building- Strong team building skills are a plus
Working Under Deadline- Ability to complete assigned tasks and maintain production output standards and improving yield under specified deadlines are critical.
EDUCATION
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
EXPERIENCE
1-2 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Related education or trade school experience a plus and may take the place of needed manufacturing experience.
Comfort and prior successful use of hand tools and measuring devices is helpful.

Satisfactory Attendance and performance record sustained in a rolling 12-month period
Satisfactory completion of associated training programs
Demonstrated ability of cooperation, leadership, and willingness to assist fellow employees in a team-based work environment
Willingness to work, including overtime, on short notice
Ability to perform the responsibilities of the position including times when there is limited or no supervision
Thorough understanding of safety rules and the safe operation of production machinery
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position is exposed to seasonal temperatures in winter (low temps) and summer (high temps). Position is typical of medium industrial environment exposed to dust and other contaminants that require proper management and control through use of approved/ provided PPE.
