Position Description

Job Summary

Job Definition:

The primary responsibility of this role is to be overseeing the production process, ensuring the efficient operation of equipment, to meet safety, production targets and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

1. Safety Compliance:

  1. Adhere to safety protocols PPE policy, LOTO Policy and guidelines during machine setup and operation.

  2. Report any safety concerns or hazards to the appropriate personnel.

  3. Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular inspections of extruded vinyl siding products to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Identify and address any defects or deviations from required specifications.

  • Should be involved in quality decisions with QA, Supervisor and Lead hand when an undecided issue arises.

  1. Machine Configuration & Operation:

  2. Ensure proper installation of tooling, (Die), and other components.

  3. Operate extrusion machinery to produce vinyl siding profiles with consistent quality and dimensions.

  4. Monitor machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, and speed to optimize production efficiency.

  5. Make sure the production lines are operating smoothly at the start of your shift and maintain this throughout.

  6. Maintain communication with maintenance and tool & die departments regarding any factors that could impact uninterrupted production, such as changeovers, Preventive Maintenance, and scheduling for the following day.

  7. Monitor silo levels and coordinate any necessary changes.

  8. Production must be in control before lunch breaks intervene with multiple lunches (breaks ) .

  9. Follow any reasonable request from a supervisor.

  10. Keep work area clean and organized.

  11. Collaboration & Training:

  12. Work closely with production supervisors, machine operators, and maintenance teams to coordinate work.

  13. Provide feedback on machine performance and potential improvements.

  14. Provide comprehensive training to Packers on the safety procedures, and quality standards.

  15. Calibration and Testing:

  16. Conduct initial test runs to ensure proper functionality and identify any issues.

  17. Adjustments and Troubleshooting:

  18. Make necessary equipment adjustments to machine during production runs when necessary.

  19. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to minimize downtime.

  20. Documentation:

  21. Ensure that operator specifications and running sheets are accurately completed, and that dates and codes are updated promptly when required.
