Saint-Gobain Quality Tech I - C Shift - 11pm-7:30am in Buffalo, New York

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform quality assurance checks (on all extrusion production operations) and enter data into pertinent database.

  • Assist Extrusion Production with startups as needed.

  • Tag Hold and segregate manufactured product if out of specification.

  • Communicate the outcome of inspections to the production personnel/extrusion supervisor.

  • Audit existing quality procedures to assure compliance.

  • Provide feedback to employees and supervisors.

  • Recognize when the extrusion standard process is out of specifications. Work with operators to identify problems and implement corrective actions.

  • Perform root cause analysis on quality issues from internal and external customers.

  • Performing STOP safety audits and entering data in Gensuite

  • Perform other tasks as requested by the supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:

  • 2 years manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as color meter, micrometer, calipers, impact tester, as well as other test equipment.

  • Basic computer knowledge (spreadsheets, word processing).

  • SPC certification is helpful.

  • Willingness to learn and participate in the implementation of the ISO standard, WCM, Safety and other continuous improvement activities.

  • Willingness to learn and perform gauge R & R (repeatability) studies.

  • Wear required PPE.

  • Follow all Company Policies.

  • Job functions will require standing for majority of shift, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 25 pounds, grasping product and using basic power tools.
