Position Description

Job Summary

Job Function:

Responsible for the inventory and logistics management of multiple GCPAT warehouses, as applicable, the day-to-day management of warehouse activities (management of in-bound deliveries, loading of outbound delivery units, etc.), and the logistics scheduling, freight optimization, order fulfillment, inventory control, and assisting with production as needed. The incumbent will report directly to the Plant Manager for Los Angeles, CA location.

Interfaces and Responsibilities:

Key internal interfaces will be with the Plant Manager, the supply chain manager for US operations and the Director of Operations. This position will work collaboratively with the entire organization in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Key external interfaces and relationships include, but are not limited to key suppliers of:

  • Freight

  • 3 rd Party

  • Safety equipment/maintenance

  • Raw materials

DUTIES:

  • Logistics scheduling / freight optimization – plan, organize and control all Rockwall transportation operations in liaison with sales administration, production department and remote terminals. This includes coordination of LTL, bulk tanker, and rail modes of transportation.

  • Complete and compile paperwork for customer shipments – including NAFTA, MSDS, bills of lading, and ensuring the correct parties receive the correct manifests. Sending required completed paperwork to corporate office daily

  • Manages, as the key point of contact, all aspects of contracts with vendors for services and rates relative to facility upkeep and office equipment.

  • Monitor and keep virtual inventory for remote terminal(s), reconcile and report month end numbers to corporate office.

  • Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedule for tankers, trucks and other related equipment keeping in compliance with DOT regulation

  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Required Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Logistics or commensurate experience

  • 5-7+ years overallwork experience in a manufacturing/warehousing/logistics organization

  • Possess exceptional communication, time management, organization, detail and negotiation skills.

  • Must be able to successfully work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional, courteous, and helpful attitude.

Management of inventory stock at assigned warehouses to meet customers demand utilizing various tools/sources of input (Kanbans, Sales input). Place stock transfer POs (STOs) as needed to replenish stock to meet minimum stocking levels.

Insure all interplant warehouse shipments are made as full truckloads and via the most cost effective manner (i.e. intermodal, over-the-road, etc.). Minimize LTL shipments.

Check the ONE DRIVE for all the open POs to send to GR, Post the open LTL orders from the ONEDRIVE for Empty totes and orders that shipped from all assigned warehouses

Proactively follow-up on all stock transfer POs with manufacturing plants and, as needed, adjust shipping expectations to meet stocking needs.

Manage inventory at assigned warehouses to minimize product obsolescence. Determine slow-moving inventory and determine effective dispensation of same (i.e. ship back to manufacturing plant, ship to another warehouse where it will be used, etc.)

Conduct monthly inventory “soft” closes to identify potential leakage of inventory. Investigate and identify root causes of leakage and initiate corrective actions

Conduct monthly stocking calls per warehouse location. Update ROPs based on guidance given by sales team and management.
