Saint-Gobain Buyer in Faribault, Minnesota

The role of the Buyer manages all aspects of the purchasing strategy and execution for the SageGlass High Volume Manufacturing plant. This position is a member of the Supply Chain team and reports into the Business Unit Supply Chain Manager.

  • Procurement of goods and services that the SageGlass organization requires including but not limited to raw materials, fabricated parts and assemblies, electrical components, service contracts and others as needed.

  • Work cross functionally with all departments to insure all departments/requestors are following the purchasing processes aligned with SageGlass Internal Controls.

  • Ensure supply chain processes are in compliance with our SAINT-GOBAIN business practices.

  • Daily use of SAINT-GOBAIN E-tools to ensure best procurement practices

  • Updating purchasing procedures as needed, develop and implement purchasing systems and processes as needed.

  • Managing supplier development and nurturing supplier relationships.

  • Develop supplier scorecards measuring KPIs.

  • Coordinate business reviews with suppliers.

  • Negotiation is required in purchases such as raw materials, MRO, Capital Expenditures, and Services.

  • Work with our Legal department and Suppliers as point person for Supplier Contracts and supply agreements.

  • Coordinate claims and returns to vendor.

  • End of month reporting to include measuring Purchasing KPIs.

  • Collaboration with Supply Chain team to improve on efficiencies.

  • Follow established designated signing authority when making purchases.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience.

  • Understanding of Purchasing Best Practices and ability to find ways for continuous improvement.

  • Excellent negotiation skills with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent problem solving, creative thinking and leadership skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited Excel, PowerPoint, Access,

  • Comfortable interacting with internal and external customers.

  • Strong time management and organization required, ability to prioritize and organize daily, weekly and monthly tasks.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Ability to organize and lead a meeting with a clear agenda, follow up and notes summary.

  • Ability to act as entrepreneur, be innovative and build an open and engaging culture.

  • Great Plains experience

  • Strong aptitude with understanding complex contracts, terms and conditions.

  • Experience in electrical components purchasing a plus.

  • Experience with Kanban replenishment

  • Minimum four-year degree preferred.
