SAGE is currently seeking a Production Scheduler to manage production scheduling and efficiently utilize resources and raw materials consistent with forecasts and customer objectives. This position will also be responsible for contributing to cost containment and customer service shipping performance targets, while coordinating and working closely with customer facing organizations and production teams.
Develop production plans to meet customer demand and consistent production pace.
Daily, weekly, monthly, review of existing and future production planning and preparations.
Formulate weekly, monthly production plans and associated manufacturing information.
Maintain master data and parameters to best utilize planning and production systems
Working with customer facing departments, ensure that production schedules meet both manufacturing and customer requirements and properly communicate availability dates.
Monitor and plan the usage of key raw materials by utilizing MES and MRP systems and by working with the purchasing and manufacturing departments.
Participate in the weekly production planning and scheduling meetings.
Manage production capacity and strive to achieve plant goal of on time delivery.
Provide monthly report on key metrics.
The Production Scheduler frequently applies mathematical manipulation to balance capacity, throughput and raw material needs. Production planning decisions are based on inputs such as production performance history, plant capacity and complex combination of made to order product. Supply and production issues require the ability to make on-the-spot decisions.
This position interfaces and communicates continuously with sales, quality, logistics and production departments.
Project & Process Improvement Related Respobsibilities:
Proactively seek out opportunities to reduce cost of goods
Provide data analysis and reporting to the business as needed
Support new product development by working with both Product Development and R&D.
Production and Planning Expeditor:
Expedite flow of materials, processes and schedules to hit On Time Delivery in full.
Assist in implementing solutions with sense of urgency.
Strong cross-functional skills needed to coordinate personnel and eliminate delays.
Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5-7 years planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Excellent problem solving, negotiating and written and oral communication skills in dealing with external and internal contacts.
Excellent working knowledge of Warehouse, Shipping and Production Department policies, procedures, and operations.
Preferred experience in and proficiency with internal computer systems, including LiSEC GPS, Microsoft Dynamics GP, and Microsoft Office.
APICS Certification preferred
