Saint-Gobain Controller - Office Manager in Kent, Washington
As a key member of the management team, we are seeking a multi-talented, self-starter individual, who is capable of managing all aspects of accounting and finances, as well as purchasing and day to day office management duties.
Financial responsibilities will encompass all financial aspects of the business, including month end close, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, fixed asset and inventory management, cost accounting, and internal controls. Other responsibilities include creating purchase orders, overseeing the supply chain completeness, and various other administrative duties.
More specifically:• Provide financial support and guidance to General Manager, including identifying and managing process improvement initiatives, identifying issues and proactively initiating analysis (labor, material, overhead), and ad-hoc reporting• Manage the month end closing process to meet corporate deadlines, including inventory verification and control, analysis of financial results, account reconciliations, and month end analysis and reporting to Business Unit management.• Manage the periodic forecast and annual budget process. Analytically review and challenge all forecast and budget assumptions, and assist General Manager in preparation of the budget.• Invoice customers on a timely basis, monitor timeliness of customer payments, and perform new customer credit checks.• Ensure proper internal controls are in place and that the site complies with all business unit and Saint-Gobain policies, procedures, and internal controls. Coordinate and support the annual Self-Assessment (Business Control) review, support Internal Control Services audit action plans.• Coordinate the SAP implementation, becoming the resident SAP expert, and the primary interface with the global SAP support team. • Responsible for all purchasing responsibilities, including requisition approvals, PO creation, negotiations with suppliers and PO follow-up/expediting.
B.A. / B.S. Degree in Accounting / Finance.• 1 – 3 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting, financial analysis and other controller functions.• Excellent analytical communication and interpersonal skills• Self-starter with result orientation style• Able to function independently with minimal oversight• Able to multi-task, and manage multiple, sometimes conflicting, priorities• Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications • Experience in SAP and with Shared Service environment a plus.• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status is required
This position interfaces with all levels within the Kent, Washington location, as well as Saint-Gobain management located in Paris, France and Malvern, Pennsylvania, as well as the accounting Shared Service Center in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
