Saint-Gobain Field Service Manager in Kent, Washington
At Hot Cell Services (HCS Corporation, a wholly owned division of Saint-Gobain), the Field Service Manager will establish, maintain, manage and control field service operations worldwide. This is a supervisory position that will have a combination of direct reports, contractors and contracted 3rd parties performing service work. The Field Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring proper tool selection and shipping, customer contract interpretations, work plan creation and approval, installation manuals creation and personnel indoctrination to the manuals and work plan. The Field Service Manager holds ultimate responsibility for worker safety and training in accordance with EHS rules and customer site specific requirements. This position also involves customer visits and field service related sales activities in support of the sales department.
Supervises and leads field service crews, including review of all service contracts, customer relations, customer site entrance security clearances for the crew, project scheduling, project management, safety management and reporting, plus equipment preparation, verification, certification and shipping to and from customer sites.
Reviews field project contracts, prepares project specific work plans, safety plans, policies and equipment installation manuals. Preforms procurement of all field related materials, tools, crates, fixtures and equipment and transportation. In conjunction with the General Manager, develops a comprehensive service plan to support global deployment of field personnel, without undesirable impact on in-house production requirements.
Provide training, coaching and development of direct reports and subcontractor service teams. Develop relationships and negotiate supply and pricing agreements with partners and suppliers in the service industry. Assist the Engineering Manager with product application opportunities for customers. Help identify new product applications and drive these ideas back to engineering and product development team.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Process or Industrial Engineering preferred
Sales Training Accredited or recognized sales training program preferred
Specialized Training Radiation Worker II or Radiation Safety Officer, or equivalent DOD or DOE Training strongly preferred
2-3 years of Field Service Management or equivalent experience required
2 to 3 years of Manufacturing, Civil or Process Engineering preferred
2 to 3 years of Project Management (large civil projects or construction projects) experience preferred
Technical Writing required
Project Planning and Resource Management using MS Project or other software preferred
General Mechanical Aptitude
Ability to travel up to 60% of work time (domestic & international)
Strong organizational and management skills necessary to efficiently manage own work plans and effectively supervise field crews.
Advanced communication skills required to communicate direction to field work crews, provide technical support to customers, maintain relationships with vendors and third party suppliers, and communicate project expectations to internal team members.
Strong multi-cultural, multi-national and multi-ethnic communication skills required to perform in various parts of the world.
Robust analytical and problem solving skills required to perform “on the spot” decisions affecting quality of services, scheduling of projects and providing continuous safety supervision of field crews under potentially changing conditions.
