Position Description

With a commitment to the safety, sustainability, quality, and cost effectiveness of the site; this role will define process parameters and provide engineering management to site operations to meet safety standards, product and product quality standards, and production goals. Directs and manages all capital project budgets. Proactively develop processes to improve overall performance of the team and reduce cost. Additionally, this position is responsible to provide production management and technical support to both the internal and external customer base.

  • Improve production efficiency and enhance profitability through the application of World Class Manufacturing principles using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools.

  • Provides hands-on assistance to Manufacturing and Maintenance personnel on the production floor to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.

  • Participates in the continuous improvement program and the standardization of processes and procedures. Frequently interacts with production personnel to evaluate and solve production problems and to advise on process capability and customer demands.

  • Develops and implements process improvements for maintaining plant equipment, facilities, and manufacturing tools.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot process problems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient operations.

  • Project Management & Develop/Manage capex plant projects

  • Identify, design, estimate, and implement new equipment installations to improve safety, productivity, quality, and/or cost.

  • Engineer and manage modifications to existing equipment to improve safety, productivity, quality and/or cost.

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of manufacturing engineering and maintenance management, as well as financial controls, to execute yearly capital and cost reduction improvement projects.

  • Negotiate terms and conditions for new equipment installation, choose appropriate vendors, and evaluate and apply corporate capital spending policies along with internal management.

  • Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost, and equipment selection as pertaining to the yearly capital plan.

  • Prepare technical construction specifications and estimates, manage construction and mechanical maintenance repairs as required, and manage project issues, budgets, and schedules.

  • Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.

  • Coordinate the activities of the design and construction teams relative to capital projects and maintenance requirements.

  • Manages, directs, participates in the work required to generate quality data and information flow. Ensures the activities are integrated and effective.

  • Provide technical training and support to the production team to ensure a high level of competency in process and equipment operation.

  • Promote data acquisition, data analytics, digital solutions, and automation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: Engineering discipline - required.

  • 3-5 years of experience. Operational Experience – Required

  • Requires the utilization of and understanding of management skills and engineering principles, theories, and their applications.

  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery. Prior experience within an industrial maintenance team.

  • Experience in manufacturing plants with similar equipment.

  • Strong computer skills - proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.

  • The incumbent must possess strong organizational and project management skills, as well as be thorough detail-oriented and be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with a result-oriented focus. Past experience with CAPEX management. Familiar with Management of Change process.

  • Strong knowledge of machine systems, best manufacturing practices, Proven track record of relevant successes in improving the cost of manufacturing and working through others. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts, 5S, quality systems and 6 sigma projects is a plus.
