Saint-Gobain Automation Engineer - Development Program in Malvern, Pennsylvania

You will be hired into Saint-Gobain as an Automation Engineer and be part of the 24-month Essentials of Manufacturing Program (EoM). This will provide you the opportunity to learn at our various businesses through quarterly plant visits and join your peers in projects and development trainings.
The Automation Engineer will assist in the implementation and support of plant automation, electrical and database systems. The Engineer will assist with the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, production, processing methods, and controls.
Opportunities for this role are located in our manufacturing facilities throughout the United States including: Akron, OH, Hiram, OH, Avery, OH, Brownsville, TX, Louisville, Kentucky, Niagara Falls, NY, Granville, NY, Northborough, MA, Worcester, MA, Travelers Rest, SC, Charleston, SC, McPherson, KS, Portage, WI, and Wilmington CA. Candidates must be open to relocation and travel. This position would begin July 2019.
Your basic job responsibilities include and are not limited to:
Planning, evaluating, organizing and implementing automation related projects and initiatives.
Designing or developing new process control systems and revising / maintaining of existing processes; developing and implementing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects; managing and guiding contractors, consultants and suppliers; identifying new opportunities and solutions with cost / benefit analysis and making recommendations to improve efficiencies.
Providing input into planning and scheduling of projects and preparing capital expenditures.
Working closely with the Production and Engineering Managers to coordinate changes in the production process and resolve equipment malfunctions.
Analyzing operating problems, developing solutions and leading the implementation of corrective actions using advanced tools/techniques
Collects, interprets, and extrapolate data from the production process to monitor current equipment performance against established baselines and applies appropriate correction actions.
Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar discipline/equivalent experience.
Candidate must have graduated from a college by the EOM program start (July 2019)

Previous experience in electrical process control, instrumentation, automation, industrial protocols / networking (switching & routing), databases, and coding.
Understanding of integrated automation and information systems with the ability to apply data analysis skills in a manufacturing environment.

Excellent interpersonal and problem solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing and team environments.
