Saint-Gobain Pricing Director RPG in MALVERN, Pennsylvania
In this role, the Pricing Director, RPG & CBI US, is responsible for managing the strategic design, analysis and administration of all pricing-related activities (including price programs, invoicing & billing, incentives, etc) for the CT Roofing and CBI business activities in the US.- This position regularly engages with executive leaders across the organization to drive pricing excellence, while mobilizing a high performing team to deliver results collaborating across functions and business teams.
This position requires an experienced pricing professional to monitor and execute the pricing strategy with measurable results by leveraging strategic digital tools (incl. PriceFx) and meaningful data analytics.- This will involve active participation and leadership in analyzing price, cost, and margin to determine the optimal pricing strategy across the portfolio of product offerings.- Responsibilities will include the development and utilization of pricing models and decision-making tools, sensitivity analyses and competitive analyses to ensure that the product offerings remain competitive in the marketplace while maximizing profitability.- This position will oversee the financial analysis and decision support analysis for the new product development commercialization process and any other business development opportunity.-
This individual will have responsibility for continuous improvement projects to ensure process agility and sustainability.- This individual will establish controls and procedures to maximize profitability while being flexible to meet the needs of the internal and external customers.- As the leader for the respective pricing functions, this position ensures that all related activities are made in compliance with all corporate policies.- This position requires interaction, engagement, and leadership among all staffing levels in the business.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -
- Pricing Strategy – 40%
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Logistics and Finance to develop, implement, and monitor the performance of pricing strategies to maximize achievement of the business objectives.
Strategically deploy pricing design programs for the assigned business activities. Define the methodology to gather necessary information to support pricing objectives and perform in-depth evaluation of price structure and strategies.- Bring innovative solutions to drive performance improvements.-
Work with Sales and Product Management to set price levels in accordance with business strategy to maximize profitability.
Drive visibility to key metrics and performance analytics around results and actionable opportunities. Establish and monitor profitability performance at various dimensions (ie, product, customer, region, etc) relative to financial performance targets, and monitor key performance indicators along with facilitating a regular cadence of reports monitoring the performance of pricing initiatives and price changes to ensure that business objectives are achieved.-
Identify actionable opportunities and make recommendations to Sales and/or Product Management to improve profitability and achieve strategic business goals.
Work with Sales & Product Management to more effectively use pricing to differentiate our products, communicate the value of our products and improve our competitive position.
Pricing Team Leadership – 30%
Lead the BU pricing team that develops, administers, monitors, and maintains all pricing-related activities for the assigned business activities to ensure accuracy and data integrity of all pricing information. This includes data collection, synchronization, analysis, and legal compliance and control.
Accountable for the execution and maintenance of all pricing policies, procedures, and processes through cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, credit, and IT to ensure reliability of data used to quote pricing, bill customers, and receive payments in full.
Responsible for the leadership, coaching, ongoing feedback, and professional development of the BU pricing team through our company’s culture of Trust, Empowerment, and Collaboration.
Develop and foster an environment where performance excellence is achieved through leadership and active participation.
Identify and provide leadership direction to implement project and/or process improvements.
Develop meaningful individual, departmental, and functional measures to optimize productivity, performance, and morale.
Effectively recruit, select, and deploy talented resources. Evaluate staffing needs and propose/recommend changes as needed.-
Develop and manage departmental budget consistent with desired service levels.
Lead cross-functional team to develop communication processes to customers, field sales and pricing.
A change agent actively anticipating business changes, equipping the BU pricing team to effectively navigate and support those changes while maintaining best-in-class performance and employee engagement.

Pricing Program Management, Administration & Analytics – 30%
Facilitate comprehensive price programs and administration processes that ensure all pricing-related activities are addressed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all company policies.
Maintain and communicate key reports and analytics to the business leadership teams.
Provide oversight of financial analysis and decision support to new product commercialization teams and other business development opportunities.
Leads a wide variety of projects including sales and promotion analysis, industry and alliance analysis and competitive monitoring analysis.
Development of decision-making tools for pricing actions and audit analysis of decisions to ensure sound pricing decision management.
Interface with sales managers during proposal pricing justifications and provide support in negotiating customer contracts.
Participate in the development of annual sales budget and periodic sales forecast for the various business product lines within the activity scope.
Analyze customer program offerings to identify leakage or opportunities to improve product margins. Communicate key findings to cross-functional business leadership.
Evaluate and make recommendations on the discounting structure based on volume discounts, relative size of customer, and share of the business within a customer.
Lead initiatives with teams to identify and implement streamlined and improved processes and procedures that result in increased sales and optimal customer support and services.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced degree required. Master’s preferred in business, finance or supply chain related field or equivalent work experience in a complex and matrixed organization.
10-12 years of experience with focus on pricing strategy, administration and/or financial analysis.
Incumbent should have a deep understanding of pricing management, strategy, and pricing analyses or methodologies. Actively keeps abreast of developing best practices in pricing.
Proven track record of developing high performing organizations and managing employee growth. At least 4 years of management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with experience engaging with customers and/or Sales.
Strong analytical skills, with a systematic approach to problem definition and problem solving; ability to transfer long term strategies and plans into mid/short term actions. Proven track record of delivering large complex analyses.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organization.
Self-starter, lead initiatives and drive activities independently.
Impeccable Leadership, Analytical, and Project Management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple high visibility projects at once.
Willingness to travel up to 15% of time in support of various business needs (ie. customer visits, sales trips with Territory Managers, plant visits, etc.) Willingness to support extended hours as needed.
