Saint-Gobain Production Planner – Grid Products in Malvern, Pennsylvania

The Production Planner is responsible for developing the master production plan for The Grid Company (JV) to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory. The qualified individual will be responsible for providing the plant with a weekly/monthly production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast. The planner is responsible for determining the desired inventory levels for finished goods including safety stock levels. The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop rolling production plans. Strong collaboration with the Business Managers, Operations, Sales, Customer Service and Management will be critical to meeting business goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs

  • Maintain customer order fill rates above 98% on a consistent basis

  • Manage the Supply Side of the S&OP process working with the Director of Supply Chain to determine capacity constraints

  • Planning production resources according to operations constraints and demand requirements

  • Develop and maintain master schedule based on forecast, seasonality, sales opportunities according to production capability

  • Publish weekly production plans and coordinate with the plant on detailed scheduling

  • Maintain all SAP planning parameters accurately for driving efficient planning

  • Support Sales and Customer service with respect to product availability and accurate dates

  • Calculate safety stocks on a quarterly basis to ensure accurate inventory levels in line with current demand patterns

  • Coordinate raw material requirements with the purchasing team to ensure high level of production uptime

  • Work with R&D and the plants to schedule line time for testing, maintenance, and projects

  • Maintain the production and resource calendar for the whole business

  • Trouble shoot expedited customer requirements

  • Manage a portfolio of Purchase for Resale items

  • Work closely with Customer service to ensure accurate and timely communication to external customers

  • Coordinate DRP for maintaining the right stock at the right location at the right time

  • Support new product development according to product launch timeline

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Supply Chain/Master Scheduling experience and Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or Supply Chain Management

  • Planning, Transportation and Purchasing experience in a Manufacturing Operation

  • Applicable coursework and certifications. Analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Experience in MS Office, SAP, and TMS

  • Organizational skills for efficient office control are mandatory

  • Proven people skills required, must have ability to work with others while effectively handling internal pressures
