Position Description
Job Summary
The Multi Craft Tech must have thorough understanding of the fundamentals of world class maintenance such as lubrication, machine elements, pneumatics hydraulics, electrical systems, and drive system components. This position is responsible for safely performing corrective maintenance that supports manufacturing operations. Must be able to effectively troubleshoot, determine the root causes for failures, and make appropriate long-term corrections which will help the plant reach its goal of zero downtime. Must possess a thorough understanding of the operation and have acquired additional technical training, both classroom and practical that will further enhance abilities that will meet individual and company needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Perform daily activities needed to support and comply with requirements surrounding plant maintenance activities.
Must be able to dismantle and repair auxiliary equipment such as pumps, compressors, and pipe systems, and perform basic hot work in a safe and efficient manner.
Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics, and wire control panels.
Fabricate machine parts for repair of the manufacturing lines.
Will participate in the development, understanding and review of all position JSA’s.
Conduct required SMAT Audits in accordance with plant goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of two (2) year’s experience and successfully pass a skills test, that is intended to determine mechanical skills and knowledge, basic electrical, A/C and 3 phase circuits, cutting, hydraulic, pneumatics and instrumentation knowledge and skills.
Basic operating knowledge and understanding of computer systems, as well as the ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
Must have Specific knowledge in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and piping systems is required.
Multi-craft will include jobs such as millwrights, machinists, oilers, and electricians in whole or in combination.
Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Plant environment is not climate controlled. Manufacturing processes involve fiberglass, glycerin, latex and formaldehyde. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as forklifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.
Able to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, accept criticism, deal calmly and effectively with all levels of customers, whether internal or external, sensitivity to other’s needs, and maintain a positive demeanor.
