Saint-Gobain Research North America has internship opportunities available for 2019!
As an intern at Saint-Gobain you would be involved in R&D projects for the duration of your assignment in our R&D Divisions: Ceramics, Abrasives, Adfors, Performance Plastics, CertainTeed and our Competency Research Labs. You would get the opportunity to work with our current R&D team in conducting hands-on laboratory experiments for key development programs.
Apart from that you will have the opportunity to network within the Saint-Gobain organization, attend intern lunch & learns and enjoy our summer networking events like our ice cream social!
When can you expect to hear from us? Most intern interviews take place March-May 2019. The earlier you apply, the most exposure you will have with the intern hiring managers!
Our requirements include:
You are currently enrolled as a student in a BS, MS or PhD program in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Ceramics, Design or Data Science.
You have a creative problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach
You possess the ability to work safely and effectively with a diverse scientific R&D team
You are organized and you keep your work documented
You are able to analyze data and write reports in a clear way
You can call yourself hands-on and detail-orientated
You have done literature searches and summarize findings
You possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Previous industrial experience, process scale-up, manufacturing and application knowledge is a plus.
You have had industrial experience with and training on proper and safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
You will actively support a culture of safety by being a personal example and by encouraging, empowering, and involving all staff in safety.
