Saint-Gobain Maintenance Technician I in Poestenkill, New York

This position is responsible for setup, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all facilities, manufacturing, and production equipment operating on 2nd shift. Areas of responsibility include mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and basic machining/fabrication for Engineering and Production. Other general maintenance / facilities responsibilities may be assigned based on dynamic needs. May occasionally facilitate/supervise HVAC and other 3rd party contactors on site. Leads the site’s internal Preventative Maintenance Program and participates in EHS, 5S, WCM, and other site programs as needed.

This role requires a self-starter who can perform standard tasks as well as problem solve non-standard issues safely and effectively with little supervision. The position must actively promote a safe working environment, comply with all OSHA, ISO, and Saint-Gobain EHS rules / regulations, report incidents, and participate in the continual improvement of the site in all areas including EHS.

Must work in compliance with the requirements set by all internal ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 procedures. Must effectively communicate across shifts and follow up on lessons learned. Must be able to lift 40lbs. Must be willing to occasionally work overtime on the weekends or by coming in early during the week.

High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

OSHA 10 Hour a plus.

2 + years experience as maintenance tech / mechanic / electrician in a manufacturing facility.

Basic operation of machine shop equipment including end mills, lathes, grinders, band saws, and power hand tools.

Experience managing and prioritizing dynamic production issues that may occur in addition to assigned projects / tasks.

Experience troubleshooting PLC control systems, sensors, electrical motors, drives, and relays.

Experience working in ISO management systems such as 9001, 14001, and 45001 or OSHAS 18001.

Experience using Windows Based PC’s and Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, and Access preferred.
