Saint-Gobain Regional Sales Manager Mid-West in Remote, United States

THE ROLE

  • Lead the sales team in operating in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.

  • Evaluate sales potential in areas and product categories, assess the competition, pricing levels, new product potential, market trends, etc. and liaise with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance and Technical Support.

  • Prepare the annual sales and expense plans for the region and the individual sales territories.

  • Prepare an Action Plan to meet the assigned budget developing overall plans and procedures; managing internal requirements including manpower, travel, training, customer business plans and; implementing personal internal requirements, including personally calling on large customers and potential large customers (architects, contractors, and distributors).

  • Teach and guide the sales team members to optimize their effectiveness in the field and maximize their potential.

  • Settle directly as many of the customer issues as possible and promptly investigates customer complaints, prepares reports and make recommendations for timely settlement.

  • Profitability and Price Management.

  • Implement and review a "Project Tracking Program" for the region.

  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews with key customers. Manages market price by customer, channel, mode/mix and SKU to maximize profitability. Monitors competitive market pricing and, where applicable, presents documented price approval requests to manager in strict accordance with legal requirements and company guidelines.

  • Identify, qualify and develop new account prospects consistent with overall company strategy.

  • Reports to: Senior NA Sales Manager

  • Travel: Primarily travel by car. Up to 30% overnight travel

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prefer a bachelor’s degree in business with studies in Marketing and Sales, or equivalent training and experience that will provide a working knowledge of the laws, regulations, practice and procedures concerned with industrial sales.

  • Prefer approximately 10 or more years of successful experience in sales and marketing activities in the building materials industry. A proven track record in sales and sales management is a must.

  • Core competencies include ability to communicate and quickly establish strong credibility within all levels of company and customers.

  • Proficiencies in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) are also required.

  • Negotiation skills, problem solving abilities, and presentation skills are a must.
