Process Technician

Position Description

Job Summary

Job Goals:

The Process Engineering Technician assists Process Engineers and the Process Engineering Manager by effectively conducting specific process improvement projects and/or tasks. This is a hands-on position, working in production, with several projects running concurrently. Other duties include assisting with engineering trials; proposing disposition of rejected material rolls; sample preparation and analysis; test and data documentation; assisting with lab, pilot, and production scale trials; and assisting process engineers as otherwise needed. Production and trial support may require additional hours, including off-shift hours as necessary.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position (includes the following: other responsibilities may be assigned):

• Under the direction of Process Engineers or Process Engineering Manager, conduct process improvement and waste reduction efforts. Responsibilities may include investigating root causes of waste, supporting Quality & Process Control projects, completing process sheet updates, drafting trial paperwork, and monitoring trials.

• Facilitate by coordinating the creation of all part numbers, establishing process flow documentation, and acting as the liaison between commercial/marketing and engineering teams for all configuration control activities within the BU.

• Assist with the transition of new products and new processes to manufacturing and troubleshooting of associated problems in coordination with the Manufacturing, Process Engineering and Quality Departments.

• Responsible for preparation of samples and trial materials and analysis, including preparation of coating formulations.

• Initiate/participate in self-development and training of others.

• Support company goals and objectives, policies, and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements for the Position:

• High School Diploma/GED and related experience. Associate degree preferred.

• Minimum (3) years direct hands-on manufacturing skills- operating production equipment.

• Proficient and experienced in utilizing SAP.

• Strong technical knowledge to include computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office applications), mathematical skills, and mechanical, technical, and chemical aptitude.

• Strong communication and influencing skills to include verbal and written communication, and ability to interact at various levels within the organization.

• Strong problem-solving skills to include analytical aptitude and data-driven problem solving.

• Strong adherence to company policies and procedures to include EH&S, quality and operational.

• Self-motivated, results driven, active participant in in change and process improvement.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $24.00 to $34.00 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $54,912 to $77,792. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
