Position Description

Job Summary

Main purposes of this position:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Plant Manager will be responsible for the personnel, equipment and operations of the of the GCP / Chryso Vancouver, BC Canada location. The Plant Manager will also carry out duties in the areas of production, inventory, management and safety.

Interfaces and Responsibilities:

This position will interface with plant personnel on a daily basis to include management of the Vancouver team of plant operators. The Plant Manager will interface with the Logistics Manager, and Operations Manager to troubleshoot plant/product issues. This position will work collaboratively with the entire organization in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Production:

The Plant Manager will be responsible for ordering raw materials, maintaining the product schedule, and overseeing maintenance on equipment. The Plant Manager will also maintain inventory and assist the Operations Manager in forecasting. The Plant Manager is responsible for the management a small team of plant operators to include their training, day-to-day duties and performance reviews. This position will serve as the point of contact for any plant issues at this location.

Logistics:

The Plant Manager will receive, sort and plan all incoming sales and orders. They serve as customer contact when needed and troubleshoot any logistics related problems.

Required Qualifications

Education/Experience Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience

  • Strong aptitude for basic math and attention to detail in sequential work

  • Basic understanding of computers and computer controlled equipment, with general knowledge and user skills with: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet

  • Command of the English language

  • Willingness to get dirty and work in non-air-conditioned environment

  • Dependable for occasional early morning start or late evening finish times

  • Able to lift 80 pounds unassisted. Able to climb ladders. Able to work/stand on concrete plant floor for extended periods of time.

  • Current driver’s license and good driving record

  • 2 years successful track record working in a team environment satisfying both internal and external customers

  • Demonstrated skills at managing multiple priorities

  • 2 years direct managerial experience and success coordinating/managing subordinates for maximum organizational success.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
