We are looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic-A for 1st shift-7am-3:30pm.

Scope:

Maintain and repair plant equipment and property and must be available for emergency call-ins to ensure availability and recovery of planned production capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspection on equipment per SOPs and report to immediate supervisor any abnormal observations including use of work order request system.

  • Attend to emergency work order requests and troubleshooting of equipment as required.

  • Perform assigned maintenance tasks to schedule and perform tasks associated with Maintenance work order requests.

  • Communicate and cooperate with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency, and a safe environment.

  • Perform and conduct assigned Predictive and Annual/Semi-annual, quarterly and monthly PM Maintenance as assigned

  • Follow all required Local, State, and Federal Codes when installing new equipment and related accessories as well as related to any repair work conducted

  • Conduct snow removal, shoveling or sweeping as required from sidewalks, building entrances/stairs and apply de-icer as required.

  • Conduct building and ground maintenance as assigned

  • Ensure Safety and Security of the building and its surroundings, including setting/monitoring security systems.

  • Maintain cleanliness in and around Maintenance shop and spare parts storage including equipment and supplies work area utilizing 5S practices.

  • Participate in self-development and training of Maintenance staff and others.

  • Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices such as lock-out tag-out, arc-flash prevention protocols, working-at-height preparations; Permit-to-work process, etc.; communicate status of your troubleshooting work, etc.

  • Perform and report on critical issues at shift turnover (1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 1st) regarding the equipment problem/s encountered and report to immediate Supervisor or to Maintenance Lead Person.

  • Follow Maintenance SOP/WI and Process Instrument Calibration SOP/WI, including calibration record keeping requirements

  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed by immediate Supervisor.

Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Associates degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent in education and work experience desirable.

  • Technical certificate or recognized trade licensing (electrical and/or mechanical) preferred

  • At least 15 years combined experience in Electrical and Process Instrument Troubleshooting and/or industrial mechanics maintenance required

  • Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) and/or Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (CIMM) preferred.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated experience and capabilities in the following areas: plumbing, electronic controls, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, process control instrument calibrations (temperature, pressure, etc.) and troubleshooting. Minor welding or machining.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting in the following areas: electrical circuitry, electronics controls, programmable logic controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, electro/mechanical controls, electro/pneumatic controls (I/P, E/P). Process instruments (Flow, Pressure, Temperature and Level), various sensors, AC/DC motors and drives.

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Comfortable with personal computer and basic MS Office software usage. Familiarity with Saint-Gobain processes and equipment.

  • Able to read and follow SOPs/WIs, labels, instructions, and SDS’s.

  • Good basic math skills.

  • Ability to operate or be trained to operator hand power tools, forklifts/man lifts and other powered industrial equipment (gas/LP or electric) and stationary equipment
